Tire blowout is one of the most common hidden dangers for cargo trucks, which easily causes vehicle out-of-control, traffic accidents and economic losses, especially during long-distance transportation, high-temperature driving and rainy road driving. Standard daily tire maintenance can effectively lower blowout risks and extend tire service life for heavy-duty trucks.
First, keep standard tire air pressure. Drivers shall check tire pressure before every departure. Excess air pressure leads to tire crown cracking, while insufficient pressure causes tire sidewall overload and friction damage. Adjust pressure according to load weight, road condition and ambient temperature, and keep the pressure consistent on left and right tires.
Second, inspect tire wear regularly. Check tire tread depth, cracks, bulges and embedded stones frequently. Clean gravel in tread grooves timely to avoid uneven friction. Replace aging, severely worn or damaged tires in time, and do not use repaired tires on driving axles for heavy-load running.
Third, avoid improper driving habits. Refuse overloading, which brings long-term extrusion damage to tires. Slow down sharply on rough roads, curb roads and puddle sections to prevent tire impact damage. Avoid sudden braking and sharp steering to reduce abnormal tire abrasion.
Fourth, do regular chassis inspection. Check wheel alignment, suspension parts and axle balance regularly. Unbalanced chassis will cause unilateral tire wear. Rotate tires every 8,000-10,000km to realize uniform wear. Scientific maintenance guarantees driving safety and cuts fleet operating costs effectively.
