In the transportation scenarios of overseas bulk cargo, agricultural and sideline products, and daily necessities, the warehouse semi-trailer has become the mainstream model of cross-border vehicle fleets due to its advantages of flexible loading and convenient disassembly and assembly. Many purchasing customers focus on the frame and axle configuration, but neglect the quality of the columns and locks, resulting in frequent problems such as column deformation, gate shaking, lock failure, loose closure, and detachment after the new car is put into operation, seriously affecting the safety of goods and the service life of the vehicle. In the procurement selection stage, through detailed craftsmanship, material structure, and assembly standards, the durability of columns and locks can be quickly identified, avoiding low-end and inferior models.
Firstly, identify the material and cross-sectional structure of the column. High quality and durable warehouse grid columns are made of high-strength square tubes that are integrally formed. The tube wall thickness is uniform, the cross-section is regular, and the overall rigidity is strong. It is not easily bent or deformed under heavy load bundling and bumpy road conditions, and can stably withstand the pressure of cargo squeezing. Poor quality trailers often use thin-walled ordinary pipes, with uneven wall thickness and low material strength. Slight compression can cause side bending and indentation, and long-term operation can lead to skewed vehicle grilles, misaligned doors, and inability to close properly.
Next, check the welding and reinforcement process of the column base. The base is the most stressed position and also the most prone to cracking. Legitimate manufacturers use thickened base plates and full welding reinforcement technology, with full and uniform welds, no virtual welding or slag inclusion. Some models are equipped with triangular reinforcement ribs to enhance impact resistance. The base plate of the reduced products from small factories is thin and the spot welding is perfunctory. The welds are sparse, and long-term shaking and vibration can easily cause welding to break and fall off, resulting in loose columns and deformation of the vehicle body.
Focus on inspecting the workmanship and adaptability accuracy of locks. High quality warehouse grille locks are made of thickened cast steel material, with high lock hardness, not easily deformed, smooth opening and closing, compact clearance, and no looseness or shaking after locking. At the same time, the shaft is thickened and comes with a dust-proof and rust proof structure, which is suitable for complex working conditions such as rainy, dusty, and salt spray overseas. Poor quality locks are mostly made of thin iron stamping parts, with low hardness, easy looseness, large locking clearance, and easy automatic disengagement during driving bumps, which can cause the risk of cargo tipping and scattering.
View the sliding structure and anti-corrosion treatment details. High quality warehouse grilles have smooth sliding and precise alignment, with reasonable gaps for column insertion and removal, and will not experience jamming or misalignment. The entire vehicle's pillars, locks, and shafts have undergone multiple anti-corrosion treatments including rust removal, galvanizing, and painting, making them less prone to rusting and sticking. Low end products have rough workmanship, large alignment deviation, difficult opening and closing during later use, and are prone to rusting and jamming, increasing maintenance difficulty.
In summary, the column and lock of the semi-trailer with a storage rack are the core components to ensure cargo stability. Purchasing selection does not only need to look at low prices, but also focuses on verifying the material of the pipes, the reinforcement process of the base, the accuracy of the locks, and the anti-corrosion quality, in order to effectively distinguish durability. High quality structure can significantly reduce operational failures, lower later replacement and maintenance costs, and enhance the long-term operational efficiency of overseas fleets.
