Used Truck Transfer Process
The most important consideration when buying a used truck is whether the vehicle can be transferred. Buying a bare vehicle without proper registration is essentially useless. The required documents for buying and selling used trucks usually include: the seller's vehicle registration certificate, vehicle registration book (must be within the valid annual inspection period), vehicle purchase tax certificate, original vehicle purchase invoice (or the last transfer certificate), owner's ID card (or corporate code certificate for companies), and vehicle and vessel usage tax. The buyer needs to provide their ID card (or corporate code certificate for companies). For vehicles manufactured before the end of 2002, there is no vehicle registration certificate, so the seller needs to provide the other documents mentioned above to apply for a replacement registration certificate before the transfer can be completed.
The vehicle registration book must be within the valid annual inspection period. The vehicle purchase tax certificate is often overlooked by owners, but this document is necessary for the transaction. Generally, legitimate vehicles have this document, but special cases like "black market" vehicles, smuggled vehicles, or confiscated vehicles may not have this certificate. In such cases, the purchase tax must be paid and a certificate issued before the transfer can be completed. For the original vehicle purchase invoice or the last transfer certificate, if the seller has accidentally lost it, an individual can write a statement and sign it; a company needs to affix its financial seal to the statement. If the buyer is an individual from another region and the vehicle needs to be registered in Gao'an, a temporary residence permit for Gao'an City is required; if the buyer is a company from another region and the vehicle needs to be registered in Gao'an, it can be registered under an individual's ID card or temporary residence permit in Gao'an City; if the vehicle owner has a temporary residence permit, the original temporary residence permit is required when processing the transfer and filing the documents (a replacement is needed if it has expired); vehicle registration book; motor vehicle registration certificate; purchase tax certificate.
