Recently, senior automotive maintenance technicians have released standardized guidelines for truck engine oil replacement, correcting the common misconception of changing oil according to fixed mileage. The new classification standards help drivers maintain engines scientifically, reduce failure risks and lower operating costs.

According to industry experts, the engine oil replacement cycle is not fixed and should be adjusted based on actual working conditions, load weight and road environments. Under standard and favorable conditions with smooth roads, stable high-speed driving, qualified fuel quality and normal loads, fully synthetic oil for heavy-duty trucks can be replaced around 20,000 kilometers, while semi-synthetic oil is recommended for replacement every 10,000 to 15,000 kilometers.

For harsh working conditions, the oil change cycle must be shortened significantly. Construction site operations, short-distance frequent starts and stops, long-term heavy-load climbing, dusty environments and muddy roads will accelerate oil aging, impurity accumulation and engine wear. Under severe conditions, the oil replacement cycle should be halved to 5,000 to 8,000 kilometers.

Technicians remind drivers that besides mileage, oil color and viscosity can also serve as judgment references. Reasonable oil replacement effectively reduces carbon deposits and cylinder wear, extends engine service life, and ensures stable and efficient operation of freight vehicles
