Many overseas customers directly put their new cars into operation after landing, ignoring the hidden dangers left by sea transportation, which can easily lead to chassis corrosion, loose pipelines, damp circuits, oil intake and other problems, resulting in new cars being repaired before operation, increasing maintenance and shutdown costs. Therefore, after the new car lands, it must be inspected item by item according to standardized procedures, from outside to inside, from static to dynamic, to identify hidden dangers and ensure that the vehicle is put into operation in the best condition. Firstly, conduct a visual and accessory verification inspection as the first basic task for implementation. Focus on inspecting the driver's cab, vehicle body, and cargo box for any bumps, deformations, paint peeling, or scratches, and investigating external damage caused by lifting and packing processes. Check one by one the external accessories such as rearview mirrors, protective barriers, exhaust pipes, and accompanying tools that have been dismantled by sea freight to avoid missing accessories affecting assembly and use. At the same time, tighten external screws such as body brackets, pedals, and protective plates. Long term bumps during sea transportation can easily cause screws to loosen. Tightening them in advance can avoid problems such as driving noise and component detachment. Next is the chassis moisture-proof and anti-corrosion inspection, which is the most essential inspection process for new sea freight vehicles. Ocean sea breeze has a high salt content, and the sealed environment of containers is humid, which can easily cause floating rust and white rust on chassis components such as beams, steel plate springs, and bridge shells. It is necessary to thoroughly clean the corrosion points on the chassis and perform rust prevention treatment to prevent the corrosion from continuing to spread and damage the chassis structure. At the same time, carefully inspect the oil pipes, water pipes, and air pipe joints of the entire vehicle to see if there are any hidden dangers such as looseness, displacement, or cracking, and prevent driving faults such as oil leakage, water leakage, and air leakage in advance. The third step is to check the status of the entire vehicle's oil, water, and gas pipelines. The new car is left idle for a long time by sea, causing various types of oil to reflux and pipelines to easily enter the air. It is necessary to check the levels of engine oil, antifreeze, brake oil, and rear axle gear oil one by one to confirm that the oil is not turbid, emulsified, or has deteriorated due to water ingress. The key is to thoroughly drain and exhaust the air storage cylinder, remove the accumulated water vapor from sea transportation, and avoid brake jamming and valve body rusting caused by water accumulation in the air circuit. At the same time, manually pump and exhaust the diesel oil circuit to solve problems such as difficulty in starting, idle shaking, and insufficient power caused by oil intake. The fourth step is to complete the circuit system investigation. A humid environment can easily cause the circuit to become damp, the plug to oxidize, and the sensor signal to malfunction. It is necessary to test the entire vehicle's lighting and onboard electrical equipment one by one, and check if the dashboard has any malfunction lights that are constantly on. Clean the surface moisture and oxide powder of the circuit plug, and provide waterproof protection for the exposed interface to effectively avoid faults such as circuit short circuits, virtual connections, and electrical failures in the later stage. Finally, conduct a start-up test to observe the idle running status of the engine, check for any abnormal noises, and verify if the instrument data such as water temperature, oil pressure, and air pressure are normal. After preheating is completed, conduct a low-speed short distance test drive to test whether the steering, braking, shifting, and acceleration are smooth, check for chassis noise, deviation, and drag, and confirm that the vehicle's operating conditions are stable and normal. In summary, when a new car is shipped by sea, only five inspection steps need to be taken: exterior accessories, chassis rust prevention, oil, water, and gas circuits, electrical circuits, and test driving conditions. These steps can comprehensively eliminate shipping hazards, enable the new car to be put into operation with zero faults, effectively reduce early maintenance costs, extend the service life of the entire vehicle, and improve the operational efficiency of overseas fleets.
