How to adjust the rearview mirror observation field reasonably under different road conditions

Many cross-border fleet drivers are accustomed to using a fixed angle for the rearview mirror throughout the entire journey. If the blind spots in different road conditions are not properly controlled, it is easy to cause scratches and rear end collisions. Heavy truck and semi-trailer models need to flexibly switch their field of view for the main mirror and wide-angle blind lens according to the road conditions. When driving at high speeds for long distances, the main mirror should be slightly raised and the horizon should be placed in the middle of the mirror to reduce the proportion of the ground. The focus should be on observing oncoming vehicles and overtaking movements from a distance behind. The wide-angle mirror should also take into account the lanes on both sides of the vehicle. Do not adjust the angle too low to avoid unclear observation of distant traffic. Before changing lanes, repeatedly scan the mirror to confirm. When driving on curved or sloping roads in mountainous areas, adjust the rearview mirror outward in advance, widen the horizontal field of view of the main mirror, and keep the supplementary blind mirror facing downwards. Pay attention to pedestrians, non motorized vehicles on the inside of the curve, and whether the tail of the trailer will scrape against the roadside mountain guardrail. The blind spot on the curve is large, and you cannot only look at the distance. You should also take into account the trajectory of the rear wheels of the trailer. Driving on rough roads in construction sites and mining areas, the rearview mirror should be lowered as a whole, and the wide-angle blind lens should be focused on the ground near the wheels to observe gravel, soil piles, and potholes, avoiding tire crushing obstacles. At the same time, pay attention to close range personnel and small equipment on both sides. The risk of close range in such scenes is much greater than that of fast trains behind. For short distance travel in towns and cities, there are many electric vehicles with high pedestrian flow. The main mirror is moderately lowered to expand the near side ground view of the vehicle and reduce the blind spot on the right side. When frequently starting and stopping, the blind spot mirror is often used to observe the position under the car door and wheel edge. During the reverse and platform loading and unloading stages, the rearview mirror should be lowered significantly to ensure that the rear wheels of the trailer, corners of the cargo box, and ground markings can be seen clearly, facilitating distance control and avoiding collisions with the garage. When driving at night, turn on the anti glare rearview mirror and adjust the angle of the main mirrors on both sides to reduce direct glare from the rear high beam. Every adjustment should be made while in the parked state. During driving, try to scan the mirror quickly and do not reach out to adjust the lens. After heavy loading or changing the vehicle, if the height of the body changes, the rearview mirror field of view should also be rechecked. In daily life, it is also necessary to keep the lenses clean. Dust, rain, and mud spots can directly compress the visible range. Reasonably adjusting the rearview mirror field of view can greatly reduce cross-border blind spot accidents and is also a simple way for overseas fleets to improve safety at low cost.
