What is a three axle skeleton semi-trailer?
The three axle skeleton semi-trailer is also called container skeleton trailer. It is a frame-only semi-trailer without closed cargo platform or side fences, specially designed to lock and transport standard shipping containers (20ft, 40ft, 40HQ). As its name suggests, it is equipped with three sets of heavy-duty axles, which is the most mainstream configuration for cross-border container logistics.
The core frame is made of high-strength manganese steel, with professional container twist locks fixed on the main beam. It only retains the load-bearing frame, which greatly reduces the trailer's own weight compared with flatbed and fence semi-trailers, so carriers can load more container goods under the legal total weight limit.
