Many overseas fleets and engineering procurement customers tend to prioritize low prices when choosing trucks and trailers, believing that low prices can save procurement budgets. However, in complex operating conditions such as Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East, the procurement method that only considers the unit price of bare vehicles often results in a doubling of implicit costs in the later stage, which seriously compresses the overall profit of the fleet. The true cost of purchasing a car is not just the factory price, but also the total long-term operating cost.
Firstly, there are high-frequency maintenance and lost work costs. Most low-priced vehicles reduce material costs, with thin beams and plates, simplified anti-corrosion processes, and average quality of core components. Under long-term heavy load, bumpy, high-temperature sand and dust conditions, it is highly prone to suspension deformation, hydraulic leakage, tank cracking and other faults. Remote overseas areas lack maintenance resources. Once a vehicle gets stuck, it not only incurs high maintenance costs, but also causes construction sites to shut down and transportation to be interrupted, resulting in losses far exceeding the price difference of the car purchase.
Secondly, fuel consumption and loss costs have skyrocketed. Poor quality and low-priced trucks have outdated power system tuning, low transmission efficiency, and fuel consumption far higher than compliant high-quality models under the same transportation conditions. Long term cross-border trunk lines and short distance high-frequency transportation result in significant differences in cumulative fuel consumption. At the same time, the wear resistance and anti-aging performance of the whole vehicle are poor, the replacement frequency of tire, oil seal, pipeline and other wearing parts is higher, and the long-term operation and maintenance costs continue to increase.
When purchasing trucks, it is important not to only focus on low prices. Cost effectiveness, stability, and after-sales support are the core factors. Although the purchase price of high-quality export trucks is slightly higher, they have solid anti-corrosion technology, durable parts, low failure rate, and are suitable for harsh overseas working conditions. They have stable fuel consumption, convenient maintenance, and can minimize hidden losses to the greatest extent possible. Long term operation is more cost-effective and worry free, making them a reliable choice for overseas logistics and infrastructure fleets.
